Today is our beloved Laureate Conductor Leonard Bernstein’s 100th birthday — and the end of our yearlong celebration of Lenny’s centennial year. Thank you to all who performed in and attended these events; we have loved every minute. Most of all, thank you, Lenny.
The New York Philharmonic concluded its 16th annual Bravo! Vail summer residency with a family reunion — cellist Alisa Weilerstein and her brother, former Philharmonic Assistant Conductor Joshua Weilerstein — plus Concertmaster Frank Huang in evocative, seductive, virtuosic solos and pianist Louis Lortie in Ravel. David Robertson and Hans Graf led the Orchestra, and Philharmonic musicians worked with the talented Very Young Composers of Vail.
