Today at 1PM: Help Alan Gilbert Launch WQXR Instrument Drive

Posted March 28, 2014

WQXR Instrument Drive NY Philharmonic

Today at 1 p.m., you can meet Alan Gilbert, help kids learn music, hear some free live music, and de-clutter your apartment.

Come to the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center for the launch of the WQXR Instrument Drive. Alan is bringing an old violin he doesn't need. If you have an old instrument you've been storing and really should accept you're not likely to use, and we bet you do, bring it down. It'll go to a local student whose life can be enriched by learning music.

The Drive lasts until April 7. If you can't make the event today, you can drop off any "gently used" orchestra and band instruments at points throughout the Tri-State Area.
