2019–20: Philharmonic Families

Ages 3–6 | Sundays at 12:30pm and 3pm

Families come in all shapes and sizes. Join Philippe the Penguin and Musicians from the New York Philharmonic to discover the different families of instruments that live within an orchestra!

This series was conceived by Philharmonic musicians together with faculty of Columbia University’s Teacher's College to combine games, storytelling, and great music in one fun-filled hour that unlocks children’s imagination.

Concerts are at Merkin Hall, 129 W. 67th Street. Subscription prices range from $75 to $90*. Subscribers receive a CD of music from the series in advance of the first concert.

2019–20 Very Young People's Concerts

Each concert has three parts, engaging young children in different ways (beginning at the time printed on your ticket).

Fun with the Philharmonic: musical games with musicians kick-off your Very Young People’s Concert
The Concert: a half-hour performance includes audience participation and stories about Philippe the Penguin
Hands-On Fun: the chance for children to try string instruments, sized just for them

From Past Very Young People’s Concerts

Youngsters are introduced to classical music through imaginative engagement, active listening, and hands-on music-making. This video features pieces from Vivaldi's "Four Seasons."
